A new year, 2017

location: Long Beach, CA
mood: hopefulhopeful
music: Otis Redding- I've got dreams to remember

Before Christmas, Ivan and I had our cards read during dinner at a Moroccan restaurant in San Pedro while on a family outing with Ivan's sister, her wife, and 2 children. It was a very good one, I was a bit nervous but it turned out she gave us a really positive reading and telling us we will prosperous this year 2017. I couldn't help but feel hopeful for a better year since last year had a lot of tough times especially with the miscarriage, and dealing with the envious feelings I had for those who actually went through their whole pregnancies.

Anyways, something I thought would never happen, and it actually did to my surprise, Jan 20, 2017 Trump was inaugurated as the 45th President of the U.S. He didn't even win the popular vote, so what the hell happened? And then the next day, in support of the resistance, we marched in protest for Women's March 2017 in downtown los angeles. The big march was in Washington but unfortunately, we weren't able to make it to travel there during that time. But I felt so much hope, support, and inspiration for social change.

Such a blessing it was sunny for this march yesterday #womensmarchlosangeles

"Pinays against Patriarchy" sign= gotta represent! pinays in the house! #womensmarchlosangeles

Moved to another new apt in Long Beach since June 2016.....

So again, a lot has happened during 2016, here are the major moments for this year.

Moved to Long Beach in May to an awesome 2 bedroom. We love it.

Younger sis had a healthy babyboy, Sawyer beginning of October

I was also pregnant for a while starting May 2016 but had a silent miscarriage at 8 weeks with no heartbeat found during the ultra sound. Had to undergo D&C surgery and also during that same surgery they removed a small ovarian cyst on my left ovary and was able to save my left ovary.

I do want to get pregnant again so I was glad that my OB was able to save my left ovary so I still have both ovaries. She advised me to wait a few months for the body to do it's healing after a miscarriage, then we can try to get pregnant again.

Also later in the year I find out I need to get 4 root canals before I get pregnant again......so another thing I have to take care of in order to ensure I have a healthy pregnancy in the future. So I got 2 root canals done this year and need to get 2 more done starting January 2017.

My Sister in Law, her wife, and kids came to visit us in Long Beach all the way from New Orleans before xmas and stayed with us for a week.

"What happened Miss Simone?"

Jun. 27th, 2015 | 02:01 am

Watched the new Nina Simone documentary as soon as I got home!
It was really good, sad, and amazing: all at the same time.

It's so sad that in these modern times, the music isn't as moving or meaningful as the past music.

Music is like art, it moves you and makes you feel something so deep and profound, an internal understanding of your soul's map. Art & Music does that for me.

Been very busy lately with family lately.

Went to visit my mom's grave in San Diego to be there for her 1 year death aniversary. I miss her everyday.

Here we are....settled mostly in our new apt....all we are waiting for is a few more furniture additions to our new place.

Here's the rooftop views of koreatown from our fire stairwell.

Our bed is peaceful and quiet.

Still got a long ways to go.....still decorating :)

So, we're interested in moving soon from our koreatown studio apartment.....

We realized that it's time now to find a new space, a bigger space....finally it's time for a 1 bedroom apartment.

We're hoping to move May 1rst.
We still have to view the apartment in person April 1rst, saw photos through online, and it looks like a perfect fit.

So now I'm engaged to Ivan since Dec 27, 2014.
Yay! So excited for a future plans together.

It's been hard lately to get creative, I've been so tired after the long work week.....weekends are the only time I really get to relax. Although, I've been working slowly on my huge painting, it still frustrates me to work on it.
